The Artificial "People of Color" Coalition: Black Guy in Korea

Blacks behaving badly has gone international with a video from Korea showing an American black berating an elderly Korean couple. (H/T: Chuck and Mangan)

The black guy hilariously justified himself as below
, reflecting the perpetual victimhood and gross sensitivity of today's American blacks:
During police questioning, Mr. H said, “I felt offended when the man in the seat said ‘Shut up,’ and while I couldn’t understand the Korean that followed, I felt he was disparaging black people.”
As for the actual incident, nothing much to say regarding the man's behavior specifically. No one is shocked when a black person in public acts without regard to common decency and civility, especially in this summer of black flash mobs and beatings. Though, this situation does differ slightly from previous incidents in America, in that the innocent victim is Asian. Most of the time, blacks take out their socially puerile aggression on whites, yet this guy, living in Korea, had no such target.

So we see here a clear counterexample to the artificial "Person of Color" coalition championed by the anti-racist and mainstream left. If you read sites like Racialicious or Colorlines, almost every article alludes to "People of Color" as if all non-whites must band together against the evil white man. Of course, this false cohort of different races, connected merely by their lack of whiteness, neglects biological differences, historical precedence, and lack of actual social camaraderie between the groups. In this instance, we see that blacks and Asians don't really get along at all, with the obstreperous black man looked upon by the docile, staid Asians as almost unreal. Anti-racists and their Democrat peers have created this "People of Color" coalition merely for political purposes, casting the Republican party as the "white" party and convincing non-whites that all "People of Color" have the same goals, from the ghetto blacks to the Ivy League Asians.

Continuing with this idea, the anti-racist left has put forth the notion that all racism is equivalent and spans all non-white groups. (Note here that the race baiters have co-opted the term "racism" to apply almost exclusively to anti-black sentiments.) In sum, the popular conception of racism is a white person hating all non-white people. And, a very important aspect of this "racism", the archetypal "racist" hates irrationally, driven by aggressive social conditioning and a history of intolerance. Anti-racists forthrightly contend that the "racist" has no rational basis to his viewpoints.

But are any of these notions true? Do "racists" (read: race realists) view all minority groups equally, comporting with the general argument of anti-racists? And is their aversion to some particular minority groups, such as blacks, Hispanics, and Arabs, justifiably grounded in observed patterns of behavior? In general, I think almost all race realists harbor a sincere respect for Asians and Asian society. This respect surely does not equate with support of immigration or even a shared societal objective. But it does mean that race conscious whites do not indiscriminately hate or denigrate all non-whites. Instead, race conscious whites do think of different races differently, consistent with racial predilections and group behavior. A few YouTube comments, an utter hotbed of race realism, illustrate:
This video is further proof that you can take the monkey out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the monkey. I like Koreans and I feel compelled to apologize for the way this American ape behaved. I hope Koreans realize that most Americans are not like this, and that niggers behave this way on our mass transit systems, too.

Of course Koreans are racist. They should be. South Korea is an amazing country without crime. They don't need niggers threatening that.

Dumb. Fucking. Nigger. now you poor Korean's know how we Americans feel. and we are supposed to LOVE these fucking assholes!

Apparently, most South Koreans are unaccustomed to dealing with uppity negroids. They are also unaccustomed to flagrant lawbreaking in public, which is quite unlike "Apefrican Americans" are though.
These comments completely undermine the notion of blanket racism (not sure about the race of the commenters, but they sound white and at least the first and third comments are almost surely from white people). The individuals profess a clear admiration for Koreans, yet also express a genuine dislike of blacks. If these commenters were racists in the mold of that presented by anti-racists, then they would simply hate anyone who didn't look like them (i.e. white). But this rational type of "racism" differs in that foreign peoples, like Asians, can gain respect, while other groups, like blacks, can elicit derision. This type of informed "racism" has been championed by Jared Taylor, the genteel founder of AmRen who spent his childhood in Japan and often speaks fondly of the country.

In conclusion, "ya see deez rocks?!".

[Additional evidence: Black comedian disparages Mexicans.]

[I'll likely have a followup post extending this idea to voting patterns amongst a particular group.]

A rhetorical counter when someone starts with a "people of color vs whites" argument: tell them that no matter what the differences and conflicting interests there are among all the races, the real split us not between whites and non-whites. It's between homo sapiens and homo africanus.

These alt-righters are too hung up on HBD to see that at root the American black collective suffers from a spiritual sickness that is readily contagious. And because these alt-righters are also largely anti-Supremacists, separationism is almost certainly off the table.

So the scenario becomes a black collective infected with a contagious spiritual sickness mingling amongst a growing white collective that abhors the idea of separating because it rejects the spiritual altogether.

Why didn't other Koreans push back on this guy? Hard to see from my quick look at the video, but here are a few possible reasons:

Most people in the subway car may have been old, especially if this was during hours when younger men are at school or at work. He appeared bigger than others, so they were intimidated. They were blindsided by this outburst, thus temporarily paralyzed into inaction. The Korean temperament is like that if other intelligent people: long fuse, big bomb.

I'll venture one more possible explanation. The Korean inaction was caused by the same poison that has ennervated white Americans: pop culture.

Ever since the early sixties, a time when whites took no shit from anyone and the sight of two or more wronged white men put the fear of Jesus into any two-bit wannabe thugs, American elites have been cranking out messages of white self-abnegation via the education-entertainment complex. They planted memes that equate assertiveness and pride contra non-white men with ugly "white supremacism."

The propaganda was effective. Koreans watch the same Hollywood products, and that may have been just what was needed to phase a carful of Koreans into self-doubt as to the rightness of their grievance against a loud, disrespectful black.

The comments people leave on various websites following stories like this are sometimes pretty hilarious. Of course, much never gets through due to being deleted or having the comments section shut down entirely. Apparently there are a lot of people out there whose reaction to things like this are very visceral, to the point one can just feel it in their words. I would guess them to be people who have had actual experience with living in multicultural paradise. There's plenty of discontent bubbling below the surface although it's hard to gauge how much since the general policy is to squelch it, delete it, pretend it doesn't exist or if it does exist then attack it in the usual way.

If they believe that whites are uniquely racist, I wonder if you could troll one these anti-racists into believing in HBD (of a sort) by asking them if whites have a uniquely high genetic predisposition to racism.

It's kind of amazing. Liberal trolls like the one commenting at 8:55 a.m. always just make a statement and never offer any supporting arguments or facts. I think I'll start doing the same thing. Hey, the earth is flat. The moon is made out of green cheese. I said it is so it has to be true just because I said so.

I have a feeling that Koreans, like many other nationalities, understand the difference between black and white Americans. Not being around blacks much, it probably takes something like a video or visiting an area where there are blacks to fully experience what they know in their heads and hearts. I am not sure how surprised anyone is from this video. Saddened, embarrased, humiliated maybe, but not surprised.

Yeah right, the Coloureds are best buddies. That's some pretty good schtick right there.

Here's a quick hint for you: when the Mexicans start speaking in Spanish and making references to 'la raza', they're not talking about their solidarity with Tyrell and Latisha from the 'hood. To the extent our brown cousins from the south accept being lumped in with blacks as 'colored folks', it's only because it benefits la raza for the time being.

I work with several Asians and they say worse things about blacks than I ever hear any white person say. They make a strong effort to avoid blacks whenever they can. I had one Asian female friend I work with tell me she turned down a job promotion offer in St. Louis because there were too many blacks living there. I tried to tell her there would probably be non-black suburbs but she didn't want to be even anywhere near them.

No, because we have the majority of the intelligence and creativity. (And no, organizing mahogany mobs and producing hiphop are not evidence of intelligence or creativity. They're just black savagery amped by white technology.)

Right. That big black guy assaulting those elderly Koreans in the linked video was just showing them some thug love.

I've lived in Korea my wife is Korean. I have also lived in Asia for almost ten years and intend on going back.

Korean's generally hate blacks as do any Asians I have met. Pop culture has made blacks more acceptable but this incedent will set back blacks wanting to teach in Korea at least 20 years.

Parents will pull their kids from schools and schools will simple not hire blacks. A picture is required with all resumes and applications in Asia.

I have met a few black teachers in Korea and they were deffinately the talented 10%. I have no idea how this ghetto chimp sneaked in. These decent blacks will now find life has just got a lot harder. My own mother-in-law commented she wants this monkey hanged.

To the black lurkers here go to The Korean Sentry web site and see what they think of you. Whites are not on the top of thier list where do you think "Comduggies" are?

PA, I also wondered why didn't they use their tae-kwon-do on him. I would guess it is because of the shock; they must not have understood the situation as this kind of incident must be very rare out there.

Also, the black man is twice as big as any Korean there.

I witnessed a very similar incident on a bus traveling through San Rafael, CA in 2007. Two older black men, probably mid-50's, were talking and cackling quite loudly. A latina woman in her 30's, in an annoyed voice, asked them to stop making so much noise, and one of them responded, "how you like me to kick yo' ass, bitch?" Then he added, "you don't NEVER tell no black man how to talk!"

It is a matter of general leftist moral principle, and as of 1954 codified US Constitutional case law, that it is illegal to reduce the self-esteem of a black person. That he *feels*, or *believes* he has been offended, and thus physically assaults another person, is not the risible notion conservatives think it is. The attack is still formally illegal, but in the US the simple perception of offense gives him 100% mitigation.

With Obama and Holder in power, his belief that this privilege carries over into a foreign nation isn't too far-fetched.

The coalition depends on context.

In the US, there's an anti-White coalition built around the idea of White racism against and persecution of non-Whites.

There's a similar thing at work in Korea. You'll find a good deal of White expats defend the Black guy on the bus. There's a kind of informal coalition built around the idea of Korean racism against non-Koreans.

If dings to black self-esteem were a matter of federal constitutional law, then that would have led to California's Prop 209 being struck down in the federal courts. Instead, as detailed in a thread at Volokh today about UCLA, it had to be undermined covertly.

I generally let liberal comments stand just because by the time I read the comments, others have responded. If I see a liberal comment immediately after it's posted, I delete it about half the time. As for the general stupidity of liberal commenters, I think alt-right sites attract the worst, at least as far as intelligence is concerned. Ad hominem and stupid arguments nonetheless, but at least they're in grammatically correct sentences.

I'd say, off the top of my head:

1. The tolerance for Whites particularly White men for non-stop flagellation and racial self-hatred is pretty much at its end. Older RICH White guys still engage in it (most of the NFL owners) but most do not. What does hating my race and sex do for me? Nothing.

2. Whites and White men in particular are responding to constant racial identity mongering, and White-bashing, with indifference not hate towards other racial groups. No one really cares, that much. Everyone has their own problems.

3. The willingness to allow wealth transfers/taxes/special social privileges is coming to an end. Sooner or later you run out of money or social tolerance.

Another Black Muslim Congressman blasted the Tea Party for being "racist" and wanting to lynch Blacks. Instead of the hoped for uproar, he got pushback and people laughing at him. Again the outcome is not hate but indifference.

In general, I think almost all race realists harbor a sincere respect for Asians and Asian society.

I'm not too sure. I think they (White race realists) do, but have lots of reservations which are ostensibly about Asians having an excessive nerdiness of character, passive aggression, deliberate obtuseness and opaqueness, conformity and a lack of a moral compass (although this may all be pure confabulation - I think not though).

Regardless, being the "White guys who have a really strong relative preference for their racial group" really is not enough to bind together disparate groups, particularly in a world in which Whites are no longer, de facto, more or less supreme (as a group).

Although as much as this is true, it is irritating to see those WNs with little genuine affection for Asians exploitating tensions between Blacks and Asians simply as an excuse to bash Blacks (not that this is what you are doing though OneStDv).

I know that in Japan, perverts can sexually harrass female passengers with impunity because making a scene in public transportation is frowned upon. Foreign women are warned that resisting a harrasser forcefully is almost as offensive (in the public eye) as committing the harrassment yourself.

Likwise, in other Asian cultures the authorities are expected to handle these incidents - the general public is not encouraged to take the initiative.

Most people don't really dislike Blacks because of how they look, but because they dislike pompous, domineering, stupid braggarts with a persecution complex and a belief that the world owes them (and who create an environment where everyone has to act like this or get left behind, unmated and dominated). And it happens that Black people are on average closer to this than members of other racial groups.

There might be good things to them of course - a greater level of emotional spirituality in the manner of pre-modern peoples, a comparative lack of stinginess (but they'll expect the same in return, even when they've spent unwisely), but.... these are not so clear or so unambiguously good.

And everyone notices the pattern. And with that the case, how long can any alliances really survive? Even though the majority of individual Black people aren't really bad, people still hedge their bets and ignore them, because what can they really give that's worth the trouble they are likely to cause. Pretty much nothing.

One big reason against racism is that thuggery is mostly cultural than skin colour. Just as part of Africa some blacks come across decent and other thuggish so too does Europe the northern countries tend to peacable but the southern countries have a tendency towards violence. "African-Australians": African immigrants who arrive to Australia for a better ilfe through legal channels come across as polite, hardworking and want to be a part of civilised society but the Aborigines like America's slave descendant blacks have a similar disconnect (though it's doesn't sound as bad as the African American but still). Yet by the same token Whites from dubious European cultures also are shady and form violent gangs and generally are referred as "Wogs". Hence Whites can be racist against other Whites without it having to do anything with self-hating or being a wigger at heart. Maybe OneS and fellow Americans know of African immigrants who are from a different culture than the slave descended blacks and don't care for the nigga culture and don't give a rat's if they are called "Oreos"?

"Of course, this false cohort of different races, connected merely by their lack of whiteness, neglects biological differences, historical precedence, and lack of actual social camaraderie between the groups."

I think the level of 'camaraderie' among ever-proverbial 'people of color' varies greatly according to the circumstance ------ sometimes confirming and sometimes contradicting widely assumed truths at pro-white blogs.

From my perspective and circumstance (read: biracial 'NAM' public-school administrator in the Upper-Midwest, exemplifying the above via K-12 public school students, whose district is about 45% black; 35% hispanic and 20% white (give or take a few points).

To the best of my abilities to be objective: I see little to no animosity between blacks and Hispanics; in terms of one appropriating the others' pop culture, the hispanics mainly defer to black pop (e.g., certain bilingual schools wilsl feature Mexican dances in which very traditional Mexican folk dance and music is celebrated; but when the pop-goes-commercial, it's almost always toward black R&B and rap, even including rap-en-espanol acts.
Also: 'Hispanics' are not a monolith in how they relate to blacks, or for that matter, toward each other: Puerto Ricans and blacks are very compatible in my experience; same music, food; they date each other; many kids in my district consider blacks and 'p.r.'s' one and the same.
As for the whites, they maintain their distinct pop modes (e.g., metal, self-reflective 'emo' pop, Vamp/Goth poses and postures, etc., --- -- yet, they too, groove along with modern black rap and R&B; very odd to me and my late '80s/early '90s coming-of-age perspective, but liking, say, Metallica and Snoop is not unheard of for current h.s.-age kids.
The one big thing I do note (and perhaps concerns the true-believers at sites like this, is: if there's a common-denominator amongst all those various ethnic h.s. factions and cliques, it's in their acceptance and appropriation of black manners, dress, pop-music preferences, television personalities, etc. maybe it's a LCD-element in play; but all the kids at some level refer to black pop figures and forge allegiances in that way as 'people of color' ---- though you rarely or never see the opposite, (e.g., black kids on their own, or even in integrated cliques, slamming to Goth or metal music ----- though I do see some of hte hispanic kids wearing the Robert Pattison t-shirts, thus, communing with the self-absorbed white kids by doing the Goth thing, etc.)
Incidentally, all these kids, who ----- since they're more or less forced to socialize and spend their daylight hours beside each other ----- have an infinitely and instinctively reflexive more nuanced and detailed feel for other races than do many of the commmenters here; in other words: each of these ethnic cliques are aware of the common perceptions about 'them and theirs' so to speak, and that self-awareness is a big part of their actions adn identity, therefore making these ethnic attitudes and 'allegiances' a bit more complicated than they're often depicted for dissection.

Nonsense. What constitutes popular black music is by far the most narcissistic, hedonistic, violent, misogynistic, self absorbed stuff out there, with the exception of the garbage spewed out by commercial pop acts like britney spears or katy perry. In contrast, country (which is commercially popular and is really what most whites listen to) is really the only family-values and morally responsible genre out there.

I can't speak for the other bloggers/commentators, but as someone who went to integrated schools like you mentioned, I feel my views on race are far more nuanced than the liberal "elite" who fancy themselves as the morally enlightened among us.

Interesting that despite the best efforts of our feminized school system to inflict upon me a sense of white male guilt, I came out of it more intolerant of other races than I would probably otherwise be if I had been educated in an all-white school. I see that they were trying to defang us awful white goyims for the betterment of mankind, but like most political movements, they pushed too hard, and now we are pushing back. It's time for their comeuppance.

If you look around this blogosphere, you will see that most of us are post-Boomer multicultural project "dropouts" so to speak. Paul Kersey, Unamused, GL, I think OneSTDV, are not your stereotypical old white southern male racists. True, they are a minority voice and in no way represent a mainstream view of race, but I would venture to say PC racial politics reached it's absurd apotheosis around the late 90s and is starting to normalize, due to the exhaustion of angry white males like myself.

You know nothing of the sort.

The practice of subway-gropping is called "chikan" and it is taken very seriously. Subway stations and cars are plastered with PSAs against the practice. Here is a sign hanging from an Osaka train car:

It says "chikan wa akan" or "chikan is wrong/no good/forbidden", making a rhyme in western Japanese dialect. The red card in the middle says "let's get rid of chikan together!". (For those who are students of Japanese, "akan" is western Japanese for "dame".)

The hand holding up the red card also alludes to the way to catch a chikan. Japanese women are taught, if groped by a chikan, to grab his wrist and hold his hand up in the air while shouting "chikan!"

This sign, also from Osaka, says "chikan is a crime!" and "please help in getting rid of chikan!". The yellow box explains the railroad's efforts to stop subway groping and contains instructions for how to deal with groping and report it to the stations. And, there is an English notation that cars for women only are also available.

Chikan is a problem, but to say that it is tolerated is pure fiction.

Why didn't anyone try to restrain the dude? Nearly the entire train is trying to pretend not to see this. I can understand trying to hold the old guy back, but they didn't even try to stop him after he physically assaulted the couple. WTH?
