Academia and Media:Low self-esteem isn't something we can measure on a scale. Unlike most physical maladies, we can't point at it and say, "There it is." But like a reflection on water, we infer it from its victims' self-destructive behavior. Many poor black girls especially suffer from it. Since whatever ails them is eventually reflected on generations of black children, it's a condition associated with much that afflicts black America.
In the 1940s, Dr. Kenneth Clark performed an experiment to quantify the degree of black self-esteem using black and white dolls. He conclusively showed that most black kids felt white dolls were better than black, preferring to play with the white dolls. Since, like the "inferior black dolls," they too were black, they felt they were "bad." Clark concluded that "prejudice, discrimination and segregation" caused black children to develop a sense of inferiority and self-hatred.
Low self-esteem among black kids lives for generations of families headed by poor women without husbands, leaving kids without male role models and often no one to affirm their worth.

This would all be just amusingly idiotic, except that it's the final, unappealable law of the land. Brown v. Board of Education was based on the idea that segregation reduces blacks' self-esteem and performance in school; with that decision it is actually *unconstitutional* to reduce a black person's self-esteem.
Historically American education was meritocratic and highly judgmental. Students received F for failure and were often retained or sent to Summer School. No-one believed in equality as regards intelligence or music ability. One could readily see that blacks were relegated to vocational programs and were doomed to failure if they were subjected to algebra, for example.
Brown vs. the Board of Education surely benefitted the top 10% of blacks who could cope with a rigorous academic program.However, the massive decline of American education has been mid-wifed by the change of philosophy to pure egalitarianism. Several generations of teachers and pupils have been brainwashed as standards decreased greatly before our eyes.
The self-esteem of black athletes soared over the past 50 years as they came to dominate our major sports and fill college vacancies despite inferior academic records. The corrupting of college standards and the pressures on honest professors became intolerable. Many professors were forced out of their jobs by lawsuits and harassment. We have attempted to invert the educational hierarchy by favoring the bottom of the barrel.
Protecting black self-esteem guarantees degradation because it is built upon a lie. Blacks are notoriously dysfunctional and less able academically.Thus, only by dishonesty can we "package" them as "scholars" of equal rank.I lost three jobs myself by simply reporting low academic performance by blacks who disliked my tests. Failure is not an option when one race is constantly fawned over and never corrected. Only when we can criticize and fail minorities can honesty return to its position of value in American life.

Actually there is some truth to this idea about low AA self esteem. Most blacks, surprisingly, are aware of how dysfunctional the "black community" is. From hard-core AA chauvanists "we built the pyramids!" to the relatively apolitical black youth. Spend any length of time with all-black groups of any pedigree and you'll hear jokes about "Colored People Time" (referring to Black lateness), complaints about black misbehavior, etc.
Blacks' excessive self-esteem and arrogance are defense mechanisms for dealing with an irredeemably "racist" society (IOW, a Pee Cee society that, for four decades, has been aware of their failings but too tactful to call attention to them). Blacks in turn know that they are being treated with kid gloves, and this just fuels their sense of alienation. And makes the anger when their dysfunction is exposed all the more intense.
Whenever this protective self esteem is challenged, blacks become rude at best, violent at worst. Just recently I noticed a slew of angry Youtube videos posted by AA girls in response to Kanazawa's survey on female attractiveness. Whereas people who really had self esteem would shrug Kanazawa off, these ladies were enraged - the venom against "dog smelling" white women was pretty extraordinary.
Also recall that Chrissy Lee Polis was beaten not for being Trans, but because (s)he was suspected of trying to steal a black girl's man. Think of it as a dramatic (if unseemly) display of black feminine "preemptive self esteem".
The pressure on high school teachers to pass blacks and/or to give them grades that will keep them athletically eligible to compete is tremendous.

Many in the alt-right insist that theirs is a fight to make HBD truths known and acknowledged by the powers that be. I say, be careful what you wish for.
Blank-slatism and HBD denial is bad fo robvious reasons. But given its foundation being a lie, the social damage caused by HBD deniers is self-limiting. The present situation is analogous to Bolsheviks insisting that workers and peasants *are* wealthy and happy, thereby limiting the evil that's done to Kulaks in the name of communism.
Western elites first-cause is not HBD denial. It's hatered of whites. If they accept HBD, they might just amp up their "dekulakization" of Western nations by imposing more draconian policies, the better to "distribute" our genetic wealth.
Forced miscegenation, for example, is not inconsistent with HBD, if you want to improve black IQ.
This is why HBD as proxy for pro-white advocacy is a limited tood. In final analysis, the elties have to be swayed not by cold, disinterested scientific facts, but by principled appeals to whites' right, as whites, to existence.

I think there was a study of black school kids that showed blacks thought they were above average at every subject in school except mathematics.

If a white person has low self-esteem then it's up to them to do something about it. If a black has low self-esteem then it's also up to whites to fix it. This is now our new job, to raise everyone's self-esteem around the world?
Just repeat the phrase over and over: "I am somebody". That should do the trick.
They're just struggling to come up with explanations for the problems blacks have without putting any of the blame or responsibility on blacks themselves.

I have to agree with what nineofdiamonds said - that excessive self-esteem and arrogance are defence mechanisms. Worse than that, if you constantly over promote yourself, you realise at some point that it's not helping you to improve how you feel about yourself and soon enough, it becomes a habit that just makes you deeply unhappy. The bottom line is that if you have good self-esteem, you have no need to go around telling anyone about it.

This would only work if low-IQ black males did not sire any children, and black women instead took the sperm of high-IQ males (who would be mostly white/asian if the donors were chosen in proportion to their fraction of the population). This would make the next generations much whiter, erasing "blackness".

Look at the situation from the perspective of an average black:
You see generally smaller-boned and often slightly shorter whites, who aren't as athletic as you on average, aren't as strong as you on average, can't sing as well as you on average, aren't as fast as you on average, cannot play basketball, football, or box as well as you on average, and are more shy than you are on average, and less coordinated than you on average, who smile less than you do on average, and are not as loud as you are on average.
Yet these people invented everything, and score higher on tests, get the really hard degrees, make all the discoveries, and usually come from intact happy families despite all of that.
You might be wondering what their secret it. It may never occur to you that humility or delayed gratification might have anything to do with it because those are qualities that are not exactly celebrated where you come from.
Asians aren't flashy people as a rule, but they are determined, humble, work-together-for-mutual benefit, are prompt, and considerate. Taiwan, with very little resources, is assuredly wealthier than anyplace in Africa. That is something to ponder.
